Bruriah High School Electives Program Enhances Learning

Bruriah High School juniors have the opportunity to participate in a variety of academic electives that speak to many diverse interests. Bruriah’s Principal Esther Eisenman, teaches an elective, Kedushat Eretz Yisrael, which evaluates and explores the Halacha and connection to Eretz Yisrael and its centrality to Jewish thought, all the way through modern times. Dr. Bracha Erblich teaches an advanced CIJE elective in the state-of-the-art Bruriah lab. In the creative writing elective, Rachel Zylberman works with students to grow their creative self-expression. Each student in this elective is required to participate in two writing contests that bring an edge to the learning experience. Many Bruriah students have won these national contests in previous years.

Another unique elective offered is immunology, taught by Tzipporah Friedenberg. Participating students learn about the human immune system and its application to health and diseases while exploring clinical case studies. As these electives officially began this week, student excitement was evident with enthusiastic participation and engaging class dialogue. A vibrant elective program at Bruriah is considered a vital offering to students, enabling each student to make choices around her educational journey.
