In preparation for Rosh Hashanah, JKHA middle school students learned about the special simanim and connected the tefillot said on Rosh Hashanah. They discussed the different requests asked of Hashem with each food, and reflected on what they would like to focus on when saying these tefillot. Each siman was presented by a different member of the Judaic Studies department and offered a unique perspective on what to focus on during the upcoming chag. Each student filled out a booklet to help guide them on what they would like to focus on this year. In addition, students were asked to tap into their creative side and design a siman and tefillah that they would like to focus on this Rosh Hashanah. Their completed materials enhanced their Rosh Hashanah tables.
