Beautiful sunny skies and a passion to help their brothers and sisters in Israel brought over 500 people to the Yad Leah’s Dash for Dignity this past Sunday November 8. With smiles and masks, children, families, adults and even a bunch of COVID puppies came to Overpeck Park, Votee Park, Saddle River Park and Tallman Mountain to run, walk, skip and stroll. The funds raised through their joint efforts will provide warm, basic clothing essentials to struggling families in Israel this winter.
Director of Yad Leah Jessica Katz commented, “I am so moved by the collective community’s commitment and determination to safely immerse themselves in chesed and tzedaka despite the difficulties of the current climate. Special recognition to all our sponsors and to Yavneh Academy and RYNJ for their outstanding dedication to imbuing their students with a sense of mission and the importance of communal involvement.”
Fifty Yavneh students participated in the Dash. One hundred RYNJ middle school students joined together yet apart to dash and raise over $18,000!
