Ma’ayanot sophomores are exploring an exciting unit on robotics in their engineering course. Students were tasked with building robots using two servo motors, a buzzer and a ping sensor. Students used Arduino code to program their robots, installing a ping sensor that identified an obstacle within 12 inches and directed the robot to turn. The resulting projects had students displaying their robots that could move independently, detect an obstacle in its way and turn to avoid hitting the obstacle. Students also added their artistic talents to the robots’ designs in creative, fun and imaginative ways. Students brought together their creativity with complex wiring and circuitry, coding, mechanical construction and had a blast making the robots functional and fun. Ma’ayanot students are always moving full STEAM ahead!
