This year, a number of students at The Idea School are taking a class called Democratic Inquiry in which they get to pursue their own passion projects. One student is creating an animated short, while another is making jewelry and starting her own jewelry business. One student is researching how computers are made and building his own mother board, as he annotates a bibliography and mind maps the project. Another student is working on a book about how videogames are a perfect art form. Last week, the students presented their progress in a “Shark-Tank” type of format to a few teachers on Zoom.
