On erev Chanukah, students had some unique chesed opportunities! With the theme of the year #jecקהלתי in mind and the focus on “Our Jewish Community” this month, fourth and fifth graders visited elderly community members to sing Chanukah songs outside their windows. Fourth grade girls created beautiful signs to hang beside toy collection boxes for the Jewish Family Service toy drive and the third grade girls helped pack up the gifts. These hands-on experiences allow for experiential learning opportunities during which students are able to internalize these important messages.
