To cap off an amazing week of Chanukah programming, Ma’ayanot students and faculty spent Friday celebrating “Shabbaton in School”! Student-led G.O. helped put together an amazing full day of programming, learning and fun to emulate the ruach that a Ma’ayanot shabbaton is known for. The spirit of shabbaton was felt throughout the day, from G.O. greeting students with shabbaton goodie bags, to the lobby being filled with pictures of shabbatonim throughout the years, to Shabbat music blasting through the hallways. The ruach was felt by all. The day’s activities included interactive games with teachers, grade-wide challah bakes, the Dreidel Madness Championship, and thought-provoking panels with teachers, on topics like “Who is Your Role Model,” “Making Aliyah,” “Events that Shaped Your Life” and more. The day ended with a Shabbat tish filled with songs and divrei Torah and a Shabbats kiddush with music and all the staples like kugel, cholent and poppers! Thank you to Five Star Catering and Kenny Yager for generously sponsoring the cholent and poppers. Ma’ayanot staff is so proud of its student leadership of G.O. and Student Activities Coordinator, Aliza Adler, for putting together an exciting day full of school spirit and Torah.
