The Jewish Link and Drink Up would like to recognize Moriah School’s William Forman as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The fourth grader has been all about basketball from day one. At a very early age, William was dribbling, shooting and taking layups, right alongside his two older brothers. It has been his passion that just keeps growing with every year. He loves going to go to basketball tournaments with his dad (Dovey Forman) and especially enjoys being a part of the team; whether he’s playing or helping out.Whether doing the books or keeping the scoreboard, there’s nothing that William won’t take on as long as he gets to be around the energy and the excitement of the game.

William, Yasher koach on being recognized as Sportstar of the Week. Who are your role models and why?

My older brothers Joseph and James are my role models.They are both great at sports, they are really motivated to be the best they can be and they teach me all the time to be a great team player. I definitely want to be like them.

What is your favorite sport?

Basketball. I love playing the game. I like the team feeling I get when I play basketball and I also like playing just on my own.

What is your greatest sports accomplishment?

When my Bergen Broncos team won the championship in third grade. That was a great day.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Ja Morant. He’s the point guard from the Grizzlies. He has great handles and he’s really good and fun to watch.

What is your pregame routine?

I shoot around and try to get warmed up.

What is your earliest sports memory?

Playing on the Broncos and learning how to dribble in my living room.

What is your weirdest sports memory?

While playing a game only five of my teammates showed up so we had to play the entire game without taking a break. It was weird, but fun!

What is your favorite sports memory?

Winning the championship with Bergen Broncos, coached by Coach A.

What is your favorite thing to do when not playing ball?

I like playing games with my friends.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

Training and playing hard. I love getting to play in the game with my friends as a team and working together.
