Turning Social Studies Into Fun at Tenafly Chabad Academy Middle School

To wrap up the unit on the U.S. Federal Government and the first 10 Amendments, TCA’s seventh graders designed fun and stimulating board games. Students used their notes and supplementary materials to create any type of game that had at least 40 questions. They could have chosen to create either a physical board game or an electronic game to play on the computer. Students worked together collaboratively to create Kahoots, Jeopardy, Chutes & Ladders, Monopoly and other creative games to use, in order to play and review the material. By using a Project Based Learning approach, the students were able to not only review, but also internalize the material for their upcoming test without even realizing it. Let the games begin!!
