Tenafly—Underground Training is a cutting edge, 2000-square foot, training studio located at 20 Chestnut Street. In a distraction free environment, Underground Training focuses on fitness and results by implementing scientific research-based training protocols, offering personal training, semi-private training and small group training. Services offered include a semi-supervised tiered membership program which allows a client to progress through six fitness levels that are safe and effective. The membership client is guided by the help of a certified trainer or through the use of specially designed fitness videos located within the facility.
The facility’s recent Grand Opening Celebration was attended by over 200 people. Attendees were challenged to different fitness contests such as pull-ups, push-ups and sled pushes. Several attendees attempted the rope climb, bringing back childhood memories. The fitness highlight was a 1,000 meter rowing race challenging 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist in women’s rowing, Meghan Musnicki (also an Underground Training member), as well as a weightlifting competition against Naor Ziv, number six in the world for bodybuilding.
After working up an appetite, attendees were nourished by great tasting healthy food donated by Hummus Elite in Englewood or were able to snack on a variety of health bars provided by Bar Necessity. To make it all official, Tenafly Mayor Peter Rustin performed a ribbon cutting ceremony and Rabbi Shane, head of Chabad on the Palisades, blessed the facility. Members of the Tenafly BID, as well as the Tenafly Council, were in attendance to show their much appreciated support to owners Moshe Klyman and Gerard Bochese.
