Moriah Kindergarten Learns About Jackson Pollock

The Moriah kindergarten students have been learning about and discussing feelings; what they are and how to handle them in the best way. As a continuation of their class discussions, the children were introduced to the American artist Jackson Pollock. Pollock said he liked to paint to show feelings, rather than objects. He used the unusual techniques of dripping, splashing or throwing paint on a large canvas to express his emotions. Each child focused on a feeling of their choice and carefully dripped and splattered their paper with colors of their choosing, trying to share their chosen emotion through their artwork. The beautiful paintings were then titled and are on display for all to enjoy.
