The Bruriah students were privileged to hear from Tibor Kupferstein, a Holocaust survivor from Budapest, Germany, about his experience in the Shoah. The girls were inspired by his ability to infuse joy into every day despite what he went through during the Holocaust. The students acknowledged that they were truly lucky to be hearing from a survivor, especially amidst the pandemic, and they wholeheartedly accepted the responsibility to carry on the legacy of the lives lost in the Shoah. The lessons Kupferstein imparted to the students about being a leader and thanking Hashem for everything in their lives will forever stay with the student body.
Leora Goldtein is a junior at Bruriah.
