(Courtesy of Bruriah HS) On Sunday, Bruriah Lightning bested Kushner 13-3 on the Lightning home turf. The Lightning were held scoreless until the late innings and were trailing 3-0 heading into the bottom of the fifht. But a three-run homer by freshman Shana Markowitz opened the door to a 13 run offensive explosion which included multiple runs scored by Daphna and Aliza Hook, Aliza Schiff and Elana Weissman. Paired with shutdown pitching from junior Tali Finklestein, the Lightning moved into first place at 2-0.
