Tamarim Concierge: Your Hands in Israel

If you are not in Israel, but need something done in Israel, Tamarim Concierge is the solution. Tamarim Concierge can be your hands in Israel. Up for any challenge, they say, “Of course we do that!”

Based in Israel, Tamarim Concierge was founded in 2009. Services include providing assistance to those looking to send a gift to Israel, traveling to Israel, moving to Israel or requiring almost anything at all done in Israel. Itinerary, event planning, gap-year supplies, baby equipment rental and Israel property management are all on the can-do list. And they will always go above and beyond to provide excellent service for their clients. Founder/director Tamar Pearlman’s singular goal for her company is to meet the exacting needs of English speakers requiring assistance in Israel from overseas when visiting or when becoming residents. Tamarim Concierge delivers all over Israel including hard-to-reach locations. They customize and shop personally for you.

This year, because of COVID, Tamarim Concierge has had a busy and unusual year. They have grown and also updated services that are particularly helpful during this time of the coronavirus and isolation. These services include guidance making aliyah during COVID, packing and shipping entire dorms and a mail-order dorm store. If you need bedding, linens, home goods or dorm goods, Tamarim Concierge’s online store is the place to shop. Student and baby packs are also services that can be accommodated. There is an online gift store and they even give advice over the phone.

Pearlman’s year with COVID started off with packing and shipping gap-year students’ belongings that they left behind. Many students went home at the start of the pandemic thinking they would be back at some point during the year. With travel shut down they were unable to return, so they called Tamarim Concierge for help. “We went into their dorm rooms and conducted video calls with the students as we sorted items for packing, donating and storage. We shipped back hundreds of pieces of luggage mainly to the U.S. and the U.K.,” said Pearlman.

The needs of the new olim also changed, since when arriving they had to quarantine for two weeks. Pearlman used her drive to succeed, her love of challenges and setting new goals, along with her experiences of over 10 years as an immigrant, and came up with new solutions. Tamarim Concierge set up apartments ready for the new olim’s two-week lock-in! They set up their internet, appliances and furniture, and purchased kids’ games, food and any other special requests that were asked for.

Families unable to see each other led to an increase in gifts and special deliveries, from personalized bath towels and robes to bat mitzvah giveaways where grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins living in Israel could have the same Havdala set, with the bat mitzvah logo, as their family celebrating in London. Tamarim Concierge also shipped a box of benchers and Havdala sets back to London so that family and friends of a bride and groom could “join” the simcha from far away, as they could not fly to Israel to join the wedding party. Many “survival kits” were also created and sent out, such as kits containing food to make a meal; kits containing gin, tonic, lemon and snacks; and many, many at-home activities from paint parties to jigsaw puzzles and cookie-making kits.

A native of Glasgow, Scotland, Pearlman made aliyah with her family from London in 2007. Since that time, Tamarim Concierge has become the outstanding go-to for exceptional customer service.
