(Courtesy of Oorah) It’s been a long year, and you’re probably just about ready to start planning that summer vacation. But what if we told you that vacation could be all-expenses-paid, courtesy of Oorah?
Oorah conducts numerous programs geared towards Jewish youth and adults who are under-engaged regarding Jewish life and knowledge. Our primary focus is helping Jewish children develop into knowledgeable and productive Jewish adults who are connected with their heritage, and our wide-ranging ecosystem of Jewish educational and cultural programs ensures that the entire family benefits from our programming. And now, we’re turning to you for your part in all this.
This year’s Oorah auction has over $650,000 in prizes just waiting to be taken home by people like you. Prizes include $36,000 in cash, a complete home makeover and tuition for your kids. You’ll be donating to a great cause, and your $5 will help fund programs like weekly ChillZone youth groups, TheZone summer camp, boxes sent out each Yom Tov to Jewish families so they can observe the holiday properly and more. Call 1.877.AUCTION or go to oorahauction.org to donate.
The Oorahthon itself will be an action-packed night, full of inspiration, music and entertainment—with a healthy dose of everyone’s favorite mascot. In fact, with an extended Fiveish Hour this year, kids can call in and speak to him themselves! He may have some challenging questions up his sleeve, though, so be prepared.
How often do you get to win great prizes, participate in the fun and support an amazing organization all at the same time? Be sure to tune in on Motzei Shabbat, May 8, at 10 p.m., because this year’s Oorah Auction is promising to be better than ever. Are you going to be a part of it?
Joey Newcomb is taking over the stage to perform the “Gimme 5” song you’ve been watching, streaming and humming the past few months. But Joey won’t be the only celebrity sighting at the Oorahthon this year! Singer and composer Boruch Levine will be present to debut a brand new, never-heard-before single. With emotion and passion behind every word, this is a song premiere you don’t want to miss. Levine and Newcomb will also sit down with the crowd for a moving kumzitz and stories told as only they can tell them.
Make sure to tune in for this wildly dynamic, inspirational and entertaining night. When you consider a hilarious MadZone faceoff, a moving video with real people and real stories and surprise guests throughout the night, you know you’ll be riveted. Watch live at oorah auction.org, or listen live at 718-557-0505. You can also tune in on Metro NY WSNR 620 AM, WJPR 1640 AM, or Lakewood’s 107.9.
