Second graders at Westchester Torah Academy have reached an exciting milestone! On May 14, just before Shavuot, parents and grandparents gathered outdoors for a beautiful performance and celebration of learning. Having begun their Chumash studies earlier this year, the students shared their excitement and knowledge through skits and songs relating to the Torah and to different midrashim. Each student was then given the opportunity to read a pasuk from the Torah with proper trope that they had learned and practiced with the rav beit sefer. After each student received their Chumash, guests had the opportunity to view the elaborate artwork made by each student in honor of this event. Although the event had been postponed due to COVID, the timing could not have been better—receiving their first Chumash just before celebrating Matan Torah.
