This week Camp Gan Israel focused on Jewish pride. The camp spoke about how on the day we are born, we each receive a neshama, which needs our body to do mitzvot! To celebrate everyone’s Jewish birthdays and the day their neshamot came into this world, the camp had a birthday bash! Campers decorated delicious cupcakes, and got to eat them, too! To stick with this week’s theme, they put together the most beautiful “Mitzvah Quilt” out of “tiles” that they marbleized with paint. On them campers drew a mitzvah that they really enjoy doing. They also decorated tzedaka boxes that each camper got to take home.
