Twice a day, the JKHA middle school students davened in the Mark Louis Rosenberg Memorial Beit Midrash. Mark Rosenberg z”l (JKHA ‘88), the namesake of the middle school beit midrash, perished in the September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers. To mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and enable students to understand the history on a personal level, JKHA middle school students were privileged to welcome Mr. Shelly Rosenberg, father of Mark Rosenberg, and longtime JKHA/RKYHS Board member. Mr. Rosenberg described his kind and thoughtful son for the students and shared how meaningful it is for his family to know that students daven each day in a beit midrash dedicated to his son’s memory. In addition to sharing about his son, Mr. Rosenberg detailed examples of the heroism that was shown on 9/11 and emphasized the importance of remembering the countless acts of heroism and bravery that took place that day.
