A lulav is from a date palm tree. We wave the lulav in the air on Sukkot to symbolize becoming closer to Hashem and asking Hashem to bless us for rain. Here is a delicious and healthy dessert with dates in them from health coach Rivka Lipsitz (@greenlipsfit on Instagram) my mom makes for the people in my house who only eat healthy.
½ cup pitted dates (soaked in water first)
¾ cup almond butter
¼ cup applesauce
¼ cup almond milk
½ cup almond flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
A lot of chocolate chips (or cacao chips)
Blend dates (ask your parent for help!), almond butter, applesauce, and almond milk together. Add in almond flour and the rest of the ingredients. Bake on 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Let set and cool and store in the fridge.
