In this week’s parsha, it takes Hashem only six days to create the world! So we will be making a six-minute molten lava mug cake. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil (or olive oil/canola oil)
- 1 egg (at room temperature)
- 3 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons honey (maple syrup or granulated sugar)
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon brewed coffee
- 1 ounce semi-sweet chocolate chunks (very roughly chopped)
Directions
Start with your wet ingredients. Use coconut oil and melt it in the microwave in the mug you plan to “bake” your cake in. Once melted, whisk in the wet ingredients, then stir in the dry ingredients. At this point, the cake is almost ready for “baking.” Now, if you don’t enjoy coffee you can use an equal amount of water, but I will say that you really don’t taste the coffee. Don’t forget a generous helping, too. Then place the mug into the microwave and “bake” for one to two minutes. And it is delicious.
