The Ma’aynot Rapids outdoor soccer team kicked off their season with an opener at Golda Ochs Academy. The game was a nail biter with the first half ending in a score of 2-2. Goals were scored by sophomore Meital Rimberg and freshman Yakira Houpt. SATs pulled some of Ma’ayanot’s seniors from the game, but their defense was solid and relentless, with great playing from Avigayil Rifkind, Aleeza Golberg, Sorah Fisher and Bella Einhorn.

The midfield created many opportunities brought on by Rimberg, Meital Jeiger and Noa Cohen. Senior goalie Maayan Berkowitz had an excellent game, stopping several shots and leading the defense.

Although the final score was 2-4, Coach Marisol and Coach Ryan saw huge growth throughout the game as the girls were working together and communicating on the field.

Ma’ayanot Rapids soccer will face Bergenfield H.S. next Tuesday night.
