With winter on the way, avid golfers can take their swing indoors at Ready To Golf (RTG), a new state-of-the art indoor screen golf and table tennis facility in River Edge at the former location of the Bergen Batting Center on New Bridge Road. The 30,000 square foot facility is broken into two sections, screen golf and table tennis, with ample space dedicated for each venue.
Owner Andrew Kim is passionate about golf, a pastime which is overwhelmingly popular in his Korean culture. Kim was introduced to golf and table tennis at a young age, and although basketball was his preferred sport, golf and table tennis were great supplemental sports to ensure he stayed active without over-exerting himself or getting injured. Over time, he became more interested in the benefits of golf and table tennis on both the mind and the body, and he was inspired to open a place that would make them more accessible and entertaining for everyone.
Targeting a real play experience, Kim installed 24 simulator bays powered by Golfzon, a leading industry software for indoor golf technology. Through mesmerizing 3D graphics, players are virtually transported to over 190 golf courses worldwide, including St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, Kiawah Island, Harbour Town, PGA National and more.
The technology uses multi-surface mats that allow players to feel the terrain as is, a feature golfers say does an outstanding job at mimicking reality, and the moving swing plate and auto-tee helps you get the most out of every practice session and focus on the technical aspect of your swing by providing performance data like ball flight, swing capture, posture adjustment and clubhead speed.
For devoted golfers, RTG offers the best of both worlds. They can play rain or shine, day or night, and the simulators are so realistic, players feel like they are on an actual course.
RTG also touts the largest table tennis facility in the Tri-State area, complete with thirteen tables, including three professional butterfly tables and seven robotic practice tables for single play or training, plus its gymnasium style design features high ceilings and plenty of floor space, so players can enjoy a professional grade table tennis experience.
For customers who want to lower their handicap or perfect their stroke, RTG is in the process of onboarding trainers who are PGA certified golf professionals and certified instructors for table tennis who will be available for personal training sessions upon request. All levels of play are welcome, said Kim, who promises amateurs, experts and anyone in between will have a great time. Also in the works is a fresh juice bar and a food and beverage café where they plan to have kosher food available.
Golf simulator bays are rented by the hour and can play up to four people per game. All necessary equipment is included in the rental fee, and there are locker rooms available to change or store your personal items. Table tennis is available by the hour or with a three-month membership. For more information, please call
