(TABC sports) The TABC Storm made their way out west and came away victorious. The Glouberman tournament this year featured teams from all across the country including Miami, Maryland, Los Angeles and, of course, New York/New Jersey. The team arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday, had an amazing team dinner together and got settled in and ready for upcoming play. After winning both seeding games against Berman Academy and HAFTR, the Storm played an elimination game against Yeshivah of Flatbush and came away with a win and headed into Shabbat still alive. Shabbat was really special as the team davened and ate together Friday night followed by some much needed rest. Right after Shabbos was a big semifinal matchup against Frisch. The game went back and forth with TABC pulling away in the second half and eventually coming away with a 62-50 victory. TABC’s big men were dominant on the glass and attacking the paint.

Up next was the championship against the host school Shalhevet Firehawks. TABC, who had been playing well all weekend, put together an all-around stellar game as they jumped on Shalhevet early and never relented. The final score was 75-41. Shmuel Yablock, who was excellent on both sides of the court all tournament, won first team all tournament. Netanel Benloulu, a junior, also won first team all tournament with his dominant play. MVP of the entire tournament went to Yis Kaminetzky. Kaminetsky, a vocal leader on and off the court, was huge all tournament as he made big play after big play and helped lead his team to the championship. Many other players on the team could have won awards as the team got huge contributions from Harry Orlinsky, Eli Saks, Netanel Eckamn, Joe Mann, Rafi Suss, Joey Zelig, Avishai Jutkowitz, Yonah Luber, Zachy Melzer, Josh Orlinsky, Tzvi Schreiber, Moshe Keiser and Ezra Silfen.

The tournament was an overall great experience for the entire team and coaching staff. Rav Yitz, head of Athletics and Activities, who joined the team for the trip remarked, “It was great to win but even greater to see high schools from across the country competing against each other in front of fans.” This is what it is all about. The Storm hopes to continue their success as the regular season kicks off back home.
