The Jewish Link and Drink Up would like to recognize 9-year-old Isadora (Izzy) Rehaut as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. Izzy is a third grader at the Yavneh Academy, who is representing as the lone female participant of the Bergen County Flag Football League. BCFL co- commissioner Steve Gutlove told The Jewish Link, “As a league we were very excited to have Izzy sign up, but also nervous if she would be able to hold her own in a predominantly boys league. Watching her play every week has proved to me how unfounded those fears were. She is doing much more than holding her own, she is one of the leaders of the Cowboys team. We hope that she is blazing the path for more girls to participate in the seasons ahead.”
