JKHA middle school launched a new initiative entitled “BLAM,” Bentch Like a Mensch. The program will challenge students to say Birkat Hamazon, and with kavanah from a bentcher, for 40 consecutive days. Students will be given a tracker in order to monitor their progress and all those who complete the challenge will win a prize. The founder of the BLAM initiative Chaim Krause spoke to students to kick off the program and described why it is so important to say Birkat Hamazon, offered inspirational stories about the power of saying Birkat Hamazon every day, and provided perspective on looking at Birkat Hamazon as a special opportunity.
