In conjunction with their Thanksgiving unit, The Moriah School kindergarteners have learned the true meaning of the word “pilgrim.” After reading the book “Molly’s Pilgrim,” they understand that pilgrims are all people who come to a new country in search of religious and political freedom. They realized that many of them have “modern day pilgrims” in their families! So many of their great-grandparents or great-great-grandparents are pilgrims who traveled to America or Israel to find religious freedom. Thanks to their mommies and daddies who helped them do their homework, they had so much fun sharing their family pilgrim stories with each other. As they learned from “Molly’s Pilgrim,” it takes all kinds of pilgrims to make Thanksgiving!
