(Courtesy of Masbia) Afghan refugees can pick up free, freshly slaughtered meat and poultry at a Halal livestock butcher. The food has been donated by New York Jewish organization the Masbia Soup Kitchen Network. Newly settled Afghan families have the option to choose goat, duck or chicken to be slaughtered in their traditional way, providing their families with the much-needed protein. The event is organized in partnership with Welcome Home Jersey City.
