In preparation for MLK Day, RKYHS students participated in a special program devoted to learning about Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy. Students watched sections of “I Am MLK Jr.”, a documentary that uses footage from MLK’s speeches and the Civil Rights Movement to bring to life the lasting relevance of MLK’s work. Then, students broke into small groups to discuss how MLK’s legacy, as well as Jewish values, underpin our commitment to standing up to racism. These sessions were developed, and some led, by RKYHS student leaders.
