It was an emotional evening for the large crowd at Yeshiva Ner Boruch/Passaic Torah Institute (PTI) and Ateres Bracha Neve-PTI’s 26th annual dinner recently. After a year hiatus, the dinner was again live and the feeling of celebration was powerful. This year’s dinner was dedicated in loving memory of Dovid Cohen, z”l, upon his recent passing. For many years, Cohen was a dedicated talmid in the yeshiva and was very involved in making the annual dinner a great success.
The warm atmosphere was fitting for the outstanding 2022 honorees: Mrs. Varda Berkovitz; Rabbi Avraham and Mrs. Yocheved Goldhar; and Rabbi and Mrs. Devorah Meisels. A tribute was made as well to Dovid Cohen, z”l and his family. Concluding the evening, Rabbi Paysach Krohn spoke and shared stories of hashgacha pratis.
Yeshiva Ner Boruch-PTI is led by its rosh yeshiva, Rabbi Shlomo Singer, and by associate rosh yeshiva, Rabbi Baruch Bodenheim. It is a Torah-learning “home” for working men and women who carve out precious hours to learn. About 200-plus men learn through the yeshiva weekly; there are seven levels of Gemara offered; and there are many learning opportunities for children as well. The women in our community also come to us with inspiring weekly shiurim offered through the women’s division, Ateres Bracha Neve-PTI.
