The eighth graders have been learning about Dovid HaMelech for two and a half years! To culminate this journey, the students held a virtual funeral for Dovid in class. The tone in Morah Elisheva’s room was somber as everyone sat in a circle with the lights off, and shared their memories of Dovid’s most trying moments, as well as his incredible faith in Hashem throughout the many hardships he endured. The students took turns reciting eulogies for Dovid from scrolls that elaborated upon his many distinct virtues, and reflected upon how he serves as a role model for us in our lives, in 2022. Some examples of these qualities included his humility, his emunah, his ability to wish the best for others despite how they treated him and his ability to see the good in everything. The students left feeling humbled by the greatness of Dovid HaMelech and appreciative of the example he set forth for us as we live our own lives.
