The Yeshivat He’Atid pre-k students began an author study as they explored some of the wonderful stories written by Laura Joffe Numeroff. After reading “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” they combined baking chocolate chip cookies and playing a dice game where they added the number of chips to their cookies that they rolled with their dice! They also had a lot of fun playing Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar? This interactive approach to literacy got each child excited about reading.
