(Courtesy of Ohr HaTorah) On Purim night, Congregation Ohr HaTorah organized a communal siyum on Masechet Megillah and completed the Masechta not just once, but twice as a group. Each participant, or chavruta pair, preselected a daf to learn on Purim night following Megillah reading and break-fast. Almost 100 people participated in the siyum which the organizers hope will become an annual event.

After an hour of communal learning, Rabbi Sobolofsky spoke and shared how beautiful and exciting this event was, calling it “one of the top programs the shul ever had.” Before reciting the final “hadran,” four winners were selected for various raffle prizes including sefarim and a beautiful lucite shtender.

After the siyum, the shul members danced together and enjoyed a tasty buffet to celebrate the communal accomplishment.
