At Least 10 Shot or Injured In Brooklyn Subway Station; Person of Interest Named

(theyeshivaworld and combined sources) At press time, at least 10 people had been reported shot or injured in a shooting in a Brooklyn subway station during the Tuesday, April 12 morning rush hour. Police released a photo of Frank James, 62, a person of interest in the attack.

The incident happened around 8:45 a.m. on the Manhattan-bound N line in Sunset Park. Witnesses report that two smoke grenades were tossed onto the train and then the offender started shooting. The train continued to the 34th Street station, where some of the victims got off and called for help.

Investigators believed this was a coordinated attack, but the motive remained unclear.

Multiple undetonated devices were found at the 36th Street station, according to the FDNY, but the NYPD said none were active – all were smoke devices.

Police officers were canvassing 4th Avenue, the station’s cross-street, and a sea of emergency lights was visible from at least a dozen blocks away. A police cordon was set up and police were directing bystanders away from the scene and asking New Yorkers to avoid the area.
