The Young Israel of Fair Lawn dinner, coupled with a comedy show and an exciting auction, was held on Sunday night, March 30. Many guests from the community and metropolitan area were in attendance and enjoyed a great evening full of fun, delicious food and great laughs.
Rabbi Eli Belizon, head of the Fair Lawn Beis Medrash program, delivered an inspiring Dvar Torah reflecting on the wonderful and special characteristics of Chodesh Nissan and focusing on the upcoming Yom Tov of Pesach. The excitement of the evening was further boosted by the presence of Rabbi Perry Tirschwell, Executive Director of the National Council of Young Israel. The evening was highlighted by the very entertaining comedian Joel Chasnoff, who also reflected on his having served in the Israeli Army. The event was hosted by Rabbi Levi Neubort and took place at Anshei Lubavitch of Fair Lawn.
The successful evening helped raise funds to be used towards the free weekly shiurim YIFL offers to the community at large throughout the year. All residents of Fair Lawn and the surrounding communities are invited to take advantage of these exciting shiurim. The shiurim include those of Rabbi Shaffer, Rabbi Frand and Rabbi Reisman, as well as additional shiurim on Shabbos and Yom Tov.
