American Communities Helping Israel (ACHI), a not-for-profit organization, invites you to participate in its new initiative: The Klee (vessel, dish). It begins by buying, making or designating a dish you already own as The Klee to hold products from Israel.
ACHI says you should always keep the Klee filled and prominently displayed in your home or office so that your family, guests, and colleagues can learn about your Klee commitment. “While you ‘Enjoy Israel on Your Table,’ you will be boosting the morale of our brethren in Israel and the economy. We have learned from the Klee participants that they are filling their Klee with the following assorted products made in Israel: wine, olives, pickles, pretzels, gum, Dead Sea creams and soaps, candles, wafers, deli, candies, cookies, wafers, and more,” they said in a press statement.
ACHI invites everyone to participate in a day of celebration on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at J. Levine Co. Books and Judaica at 5 West 30th Street in Manhattan for the official Klee campaign launch. Many other Klee celebrations will be taking place in other Judaica gift shops across the USA. ACHI makes the following suggestion: Don’t leave the supermarket or drug store without a product from Israel in your wagon. Visit www.achi613.org and www.theklee.org to learn more.
