The SAR JV Boys Softball Team defeated TABC 11-7 to raise its record to 3-2. The victory came in dramatic fashion as the Sting were down 7-3 in the 6th. In the second-to-last frame, they scored two runs to pull within two. In the top of the 7th, SAR’s bats really came to play as the team scored six runs, including a three-run home run by sophomore captain Ariel Smith. Ariel went 4 for 5 and played stellar center for five innings before pitching brilliantly in the final two. Co-captain Remy Neuhaus likewise went 4 for 5 in the cleanup spot.
The game had been particularly frustrating through five innings as SAR scored three runs but left 10 runners stranded, including several situations with a runner on 3rd. As has been the trend all season, SAR has shown tremendous patience at the plate, including two walks each by Eitan Hain and Hank Stein.
TABC came back from being down 3-1 with an offensive explosion in the 5th, but SAR did not give up and the Sting bats were as clutch as ever in the 6th and 7th.
