Harav Yechiel Abuchatzeira, Chief Rabbi of Ramle, is coming to America to inspire his followers. After the large turnout last year, Yad L’Achim has been inundated with requests for repeat visits and Rav Abuchatzeira, despite his busy schedule, will be flying to the United States exclusively for six events.
The events Brooklyn, the 5 Towns, Queens, Teaneck, and Great Neck, from Wednesday May 21 through Wednesday, the 28th (see details below). Rav Abuchatzeira will speak on his personal involvement in Yad L’Achim’s work as well as on “How to Elevate Your Mazel [Fortune] and Merit Happiness.”
Harav Abuchatzeira, scion of the famous Abuchatzeira family, whose blessings are sought by Jews around the world, will also be available afterwards for advice and personal blessings for shidduchim, shalom bayis, parnassah, children, refuah sheleimah and all individual matters in urgent need of a yeshua. In addition, personal appointments can be arranged with the Rav during the day.
Rav Abuchatzeira has been involved in Yad L’Achim’s rescue work in Eretz Yisrael for many years.
Also appearing at the events will be Shmuel M., Yad L’Achim’s top rescue unit commander, who will appear in public for the first time. Shmuel is the go-to man at whenever a Jewish girl must be rescued from an Arab village. No mission is executed before he’s approved the plan, and has ensured proper coordination among the various units in the field. Most importantly, he makes certain that there is a fallback option in case things go wrong.
“It isn’t enough to have information that the Arab husband is usually at work by 9 a.m.,” says Shmuel, who has rich combat experience. “We must send a cover car, which, among other things, travels to the husband’s workplace to see if he is there before we proceed to the house and rescue the wife and children. Things can and do go wrong on these missions and it’s my responsibility to ensure that, with God’s help, everyone gets out safely.”
Shmuel will share details of some of his most daring rescue missions. No pictures will be allowed during his presentation, so as not to compromise Shmuel’s ability to operate in future missions.
Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser, Rav of Khal Beis Yitzchak, will speak on how to protect yourself and your children in today’s world.
The final evening, May 28, will also feature Rabbi Eli Mansour, , the Rav of Beis Yaakov in Brooklyn. Rav Mansour will speak on “The Secret to a Succesful Life.”
Opening remarks at the Teaneck event (5/22) will be given by the inspirational Rav Haim Jachter, Rav of the Sephardic Congregation of Teaneck.
A documentary film will be aired that follows in the footsteps of a Yad L’Achim rescue team, from the planning stage, through the rescue itself, and finally until the point where the mother and her children are home free.
Yad L’Achim, established over 60 years ago by Harav Sholom Dov Lifschitz, zt”l, fights on behalf of the Jewish people to bring back those who have fallen into the worst possible spiritual straits. These include Jews who have been lured by missionaries into cults and Jewish women who have married Arabs and are trapped with their children in Arab villages.
Yad L’Achim’s motto is “We don’t give up on even a single Jew.” They rescue, and rehabilitate Jewish women and their children and help them rejoin the Jewish people. This involves renting a “safe house” for them and providing basic necessities until the mother can find work. Yad L’Achim also offers social and psychological help and, most importantly, helps to enroll the children in yeshivos. Since many of these Jewish children speak only Arabic, Yad L’Achim often hires tutors and mentors to help them catch up and to serve as positive, Jewish father figures.
Yad L’Achim runs a 24-hour hotline for Jewish women in Arab villages and their families, which responds immediately to the over 1,400 calls it receives annually.
The Teaneck event will take place on Thursday, May 22 at Shaarei Orah Sephardic Congregation of Teaneck, 1425 Essex Road (corner of Ogden Avenue). Men and women are welcome. Doors will open 7:30 p.m. and the program is set to begin at 8:15 p.m. For further information regarding the events and Rav Abuchatzeira’s visit and to schedule a private appointment, please call 1-866-923-5224 OR visit www.YadLachim.org OR e-mail [email protected]
