Cong. Rinat Yisrael, 389 W. Englewood Ave, Teaneck, NJ presents the widely acclaimed Dr. Micah Goodman of Hebrew University on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 8:45 p.m. on “The Collapse of Israel’s Secular-Religious Divide and the Emergence of a New Zionist Paradigm.”
Classic ideological visions have lost much of their relevance in the Jewish State and Israelis today are searching for a new vision of Zionism that speaks to their sensibilities in the 21st century. What is that vision? What is the role of North American Jews in fulfilling Israel’s new dreams?
Dr. Micah Goodman, an American-Israeli philosopher, is a leading young voice in Israel and North America on Zionism, Judaism, the Bible, and a wide variety of issues facing contemporary world Jewry. A distinguished speaker and teacher, he lectures regularly overseas and at Israel’s leading universities, think tanks, and cultural venues to audiences that include Israel’s political and national leaders. He is the author of two books: Secrets of the Guide to the Perplexed and The Dream of the Kuzari.
Dr. Goodman is celebrated for his role as creator and director of the Ein Prat Academy for Leadership, a widely praised and transformative Beit Midrash where young post-army Israelis in their 20s from across the religious and political spectrum come together to be inspired through Torah, Zionist education, and leadership training. He hosts a popular weekly show on Israel television’s Channel 2 discussing Biblical figures and frequently lectures at the Prime Minister’s residence.
Dr. Goodman lectures on Jewish Philosophy at the Hebrew University and serves as a senior fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.
