New York—Beis Me­drash L’Talmud, an affiliate of Lander College for Men located in Kew Gardens Hills in Queens, announced the appointment of Rabbi Shmuel Marcus to the em­inent rabbinic faculty.

Rabbi Marcus received smicha from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theolog­ical Seminary where he had the privilege of learn­ing with his grandfather, HaGaon HaRav Ahron So­loveichik. For the past ten years he has served as a rebbe in Yeshiva Universi­ty’s Beis Medrash Program. He is also the Rav of Kehilas Ishei Yisrael in Kew Gardens Hills and is a vice president of the Vaad Harabonim and a member of the RCA Beis Din for Con­versions, all in Queens.

Dr. Moshe Sokol, dean of the Lander College of Men, expressed his enthu­siasm for Rabbi Marcus’ ap­pointment. “Rabbi Marcus brings considerable expe­rience, erudition and won­derful teaching skills, and special warmth that is so important to mold stu­dents. He will add much to our talented staff.”
