David M. Weinberg, director of public affairs at the Israeli think-tank, the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, who also heads the Israel Office of Canada’s Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs will be speaking at the Teaneck Jewish Center at 70 Sterling Place this Shabbat.
Since moving to Israel in 1990 from Toronto, Weinberg, who is a columnist for the Jerusalem Post, has held a series of high-level public sector positions. He has been a senior adviser to Deputy Prime Minister Natan Sharansky, coordinator of the Global Forum against Antisemitism in the Prime Minister’s Office, and spokesman for Bar-Ilan University, among other positions.
He will speak twice. At approximately 11:00 a.m., Weinberg will discuss “Awakening: The Zionist Spring in a Changed Middle East” and at 6:45 p.m., an hour before Minchah, he will talk about “Reforming the Haredi Community in Israel and Healing Israel.”
