Who invented the parachute? What need did the thermometer fulfill? When were ballpoint pens invented? Where was the bicycle invented? The answers to these and many other questions were researched by the 6th graders for their Science reports in conjunction with their English classes. All the research was conducted in the library.

Before doing any research, they had three lessons on the introduction to online research. These lessons included website evaluation and questioning the validity and sources of websites. Then they used the Worldbook, both online and in print, books, and online sources to find the answers, citing all of their sources as they worked. Now they are armed with enough information to write their research papers. Job well done. The students did a terrific job! (photos 3 &4)
