Intergenerational Kristallnacht Commemoration at Teaneck High

Teaneck–The Holocaust Resource Center at Teaneck High School will host an intergenerational program on Tuesday, November 11, at 10 a.m. in the high school’s Student Center to mark the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the infamous pogrom of 1938, which sparked the fires of the forthcoming Holocaust.

The program features Ruth Goldman Tobias and Lisl Malkin, Holocaust survivors whose stories are featured in videos created by four teenage siblings from Tenafly. Family members who have dedicated themselves to telling their stories, will address the students and answer any questions.

Ben, Adam, Daniel, and Georgia Danzger have been recording the testimonies of survivors since 2010. Their-award winning Generations of the Shoah series includes original footage, archive photographs, music and interviews with survivors, their children and grandchildren. The videos they have produced thus far are both moving and meaningful.

For further information about the program please contact Goldie Minkowitz, teacher and Holocaust Coordinator at Teaneck High School, at [email protected] or Pearl Markovitz, Volunteer Holocaust Educator at [email protected].
