Kaplen JCC Presents 14th Annual Cantorial Concert

The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades will present its 14th annual Cantorial Concert on Sunday, November 23, at 3 p.m., featuring beautiful melodies from the Shabbat repertoire sung by inspiring local cantors. The goal of the concert each year is to honor the deep cantorial tradition and the cantors who keep it alive through prayer and performance. Through narration and song, the cantors will lead participants in a musical celebration that creates a sense of Shabbat joy and rest, including selections from traditional chazzanut, as well as contemporary, classic, and folk-inspired songs and melodies.

Cantors performing in the celebration include: Mark Biddelman, Caitlin Bromberg, Phyllis Cole, Estelle Epstein, Orna Green, Ilan Mamber, David Perper, Faith Steinsnyder, and Sam Weiss. They represent the following: Temple Emanuel Pascack Valley, Temple Israel & JCC, Congregation Beth Shalom, Har Sinai Temple of Pennington, Temple Beth Rishon, Beth Haverim-Shir Shalom, Temple Israel & JCC, JCC of Paramus–Congregation Beth Tikvah. The Cantorial Concert is funded, in part, through the generous support of the Weinflash Family Cantorial Concert Endowment Fund.

Tickets: $8/$10 in advance; $10/$12 at the door, children free. For more information, visit the JCC website at www.jccotp.org or call Ruth Yung at 201-408-1418.
