At the beginning of December, US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro visited the Jerusalem College of Technology (JCT) for a private demonstration of several ground-breaking technologies developed by students at the institution, and to discuss cooperation between American companies and JCT.

“JCT is unique in that it has a diverse mix of students, including new immigrants from France and Ethiopia and haredim. Every student, no matter his background, is given the support he needs to learn and grow,” said JCT President Dr. Chaim Sukenik.

Shapiro was impressed by the student presentations, including an advanced warning security system and an artificial intelligence system that assists individuals with autism. He talked about about the importance of US-based companies developing ties with Israeli academic institutions like JCT.

“The US Embassy in Israel encourages American companies to invest in Israel, and it is clear that JCT would be a very sound investment,” said the ambassador. “I am thrilled to encourage cooperation and to advance technological and social initiatives with JCT.”

Dr. Sukenik echoed the importance of collaboration explaining that the US Embassy could facilitate numerous ventures and advance many technological innovations that would benefit America, Israel, and the world at large.
