The “Y” Keeps February Warm With Special Events

Union—February events for the YM-YWHA of Union have been posted and are listed below:

The Hit Makers: The Kids Who Invented Rock N Roll, a movie about Neil Sedaka, Carole King, writer Jerry Geffen, and producer Don Kirshner will be shown on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m., ($5, $3 Y members).

Also on Feb. 8, Maor Tiri, Community Shlichiah, gives a free 90-minute crash course in beginning conversational Hebrew to the community.

The second Camp Open House will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. Prospective camp families can get information and discounts on any one of the 10 camp programs offered for 2015.

On Tuesday, Feb. 17, an Israeli film, Sallah Shabati, is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

For “senior adults,” there’s a birthday party for Washington and Lincoln—with entertainment—at a special Presidents Day Lunch ($7) on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

For children and families, the annual “Early Bird Purim Carnival” will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22 from 1-4 p.m., offering three fun-filled hours of blow-ups, rides, photo booth, prizes, carnival games, clowns, and food.

The ever-popular Antique Appraisal Party will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 and guests can bring one item for appraisal. The appraiser is David Powell Willis, a licensed dealer. Light refreshments will be served. To make reservations for any of these events, please contact the Y Office at 908-289-8112.
