Elizabeth—On a recent Motzei Shabbos, the Mathilda Goldflies Mikvah held its annual Melaveh Malka and Chinese Auction. Residents of Elizabeth and Hillside gathered in the Jewish Educational Center’s Monroe Levy Auditorium for an evening of food, fun, and fundraising. The Chinese Auction featured an exciting array of prizes, with TVs, a laptop, and Xbox; toys, games, and useful home products and a special live auction was held. Up for auction was a Sterling Suite with seating for 22 at Citi Field. With the Mets looking to make a run this year, this prize garnered much interest and bidding was lively.

After purchasing tickets and selecting prizes, attendees enjoyed a delicious dairy Melaveh Malka. The sushi station, a huge hit, was graciously donated by Reuben’s Glatt Spot of West Orange and Avenue Grill of Elizabeth. Event co-chair Mrs. Shaindy Pinsker welcomed everyone and thanked the sponsors and volunteers. Rabbi Michael Bleicher of The Elmora Hills Minyan inspired the crowd with a wonderful d’var torah. For the main event, MCs Jonathan Walzman and Alex Speyer conducted the ticket drawing and live auction, keeping the crowd entertained throughout the event. This event is one of the Mikvah’s two major annual fundraisers, and it was a rousing success.
