The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize Jacob Nayowitz as this week’s Sportstar of the week. The 14-year-old, SAR freshman Goalie has only given up nine goals this season, to go along with five shuouts.
Jacob who would you say is your role model?
My parents. My dad particularly shaped my life in terms of playing sports. Both my parents are perfect role models of how to act on and off the court
What is your pregame meal?
Two pieces of grilled chicken
What is your earliest sports memory?
My first Mets game when I was 4, and the big board wished me happy birthday by spelling Jacob, “Jacon.”
What is your favorite sports memory?
Knocking in the winning run in the travel baseball championship with one-hand and becoming the first Teaneck travel team to win the summer ball championship.
What is your favorite thing to do when not playing sports?
Hanging out with my friends and managing my fantasy teams. (I won the fantasy football championship on a kneel).
What is the best thing about being a sportstar?
Helping my team win games and helping my team be the first SAR hockey team to finish the regular season undefeated
