Noam Knights Advance to HAYMISH Championship

On Monday March 2nd, the Noam Knights had a rematch vs. the SAR Sting to avenge a loss at the end of the regular season. A win would send one of these teams to the championship. The Knights came out strong early in the first period as they opened the scoring when Jake Rothenberg put home an Elliot Eisner shot which gave Noam a 1-0 lead. A few minutes later JJ Coren had a nice wrist shot as Noam took a 2-0 lead. Then shortly after, SAR would get a lucky shot off a misplayed clearing attempt to make it 2-1, but that’s all they would get the rest of the game. The Knights struck right back as JJ Coren put home his 2nd of the night, and Joe Baron finished off the first period scoring with a great shot from the point to give Noam a 4-1 lead.

Going into second period the Knights were still pumped as they looked to keep the pressure on SAR as Jake Rothenberg gets his 2nd of the night to take a 5-1 lead. As the period went on Noam knew they had the game well in hand as SAR was barely able to create any offensive rush throughout the period. The Knights got goaltending from Gilad Holzer, and stellar defense from Joe Baron, ET Dubin, Yechiel Keiser, and Mathew Ganchrow, who was plus six for the evening.

The third period started the same way the second period ended with the Knights pouring on the shots. Elliot Eisner finished off the scoring with a wrist shot. As the game was coming to a close Eli Blumenfeld finished the game out for a 6-1 win, as the Knights now are headed back to their second consecutive championship
