Having successfully concluded its inaugural school year in June, Shalshelet experienced nothing short of a triumph. Not only did the school boast nearly 100% retention, but it also attracted close to 100 new inquiries, reflecting its tremendous impact on students and families alike. As Shalshelet’s visionary leadership looked ahead to year two and beyond, they recognized the need for expansion to continue their vital mission.
“We had an amazing first year, and we are thrilled to share that we will nearly double in size this year,” said Dov Adler, Shalshelet’s esteemed board president. “Our journey to success has led us to this momentous collaboration with the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, where our families will benefit from many wonderful resources.”
Shalshelet’s head of school, Shulamit Roth, also expressed her excitement about the move to the JCC. “The JCC is truly incredible. With a dedicated wing of classrooms and ample flexible space, we can seamlessly accommodate the large and small group learning structures integral to our specialized dual curriculum. Moreover, our students will have access to the JCC’s magnificent campus, complete with state-of-the-art gyms, indoor and outdoor courts, sprawling fields, and awe-inspiring auditoriums, significantly enhancing our athletics, arts and music co-curricular programs. This partnership with the JCC opens up a world of possibilities for our students, and we cannot wait to see them soar to new heights this year.”
The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades shares in this excitement, warmly welcoming Yeshivat Shalshelet into its vibrant community center. With shared values and a commitment to fostering inclusivity and growth, this collaboration promises to truly celebrate diversity and opportunity.
“As the Kaplen JCC continues to expand our approach to community engagement, we look forward to welcoming Yeshivat Shalshelet and its students, families and faculty into the JCC family. We are hopeful of creating a partnership that can be a long-term asset in serving and strengthening the Jewish community. The alignment in philosophy and approach is exciting, and we look forward to optimizing the collaboration potential for our current programs and for the whole community,” said Sue Gelsey, chief engagement officer at Kaplen JCC on the Palisades.
As the fall approaches, the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades eagerly awaits the arrival of Yeshivat Shalshelet, ready to witness the transformational impact they will make together. It’s a new chapter filled with promise, potential and endless possibilities, and the community center could not be prouder to stand side by side with Shalshelet on this remarkable journey.
