On April 6th, at the Jersey Shore, Moriah finished its season with a perfect record, 8-0, by defeating the flaming Hillel Heat, 58-38.
From day one of the season, Moriah hoped to accomplish its goal of being undefeated. Now Moriah has a new goal, bringing home the title.
Moriah was led by Gaby Katz’s second double double of the season, with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and by Isaac Horowitz’s 10 points and 9 rebounds.
As a team, Moriah was perfect from the free throw line, shooting 100%. Moriah dominated the glass, out-rebounding Hillel, 32-22. Rafi Lewis had a nice performance, leading the team with 5 assists. Additionally, Ethan Schechter played a smart defensive game, leading Moriah with 3 steals.
Moriah, with the first seed in the playoffs, will now wait to see which team will have the unfortunate luck to play against them. Stay tuned . . .
